We are proud to announce that we recently completed a water heater repair and installation for a local customer in Las Vegas. This customer called Call of Dooty because they had been having issues with their hot water for over a year and had tried several different options to fix it, but nothing worked. Our technicians replaced the faulty tank in an old unit and installed a new one, then plumbed it into the home's existing system.
They were impressed with the cost and convenience of having the job done at home rather than having to go out of town or wait weeks for someone else to come out. This project highlights what sets Call of Dooty apart from other contractors: our attention to detail, quality service, and commitment to customer satisfaction. The customer was very pleased with the results of this project, and they said they would contact us again for future projects.
Water heaters are an integral part of your home, and you might be wondering, how long do water heaters last? It's a question that most people don't ask themselves. However, it's important to know how long your water heater will last so you can prepare yourself when it needs to be replaced.
On average, water heaters last 12-15 years. If you have a tankless system, it can last up to 20 years. If you keep your water heater maintained by having annual checkups with a professional and replacing parts before they break down completely, your unit will not only last longer but it will be safer as well.
However, if you don’t do regular maintenance on your system and let it run in poor condition over time, such as allowing sediment build-up or failing to fix leaks, then the lifespan of your water heater may decrease significantly. Water heaters with poor corrosion protection will corrode faster than others, and they're more likely to develop leaks. A poorly installed water heater is also more likely to leak or crack and less likely to be properly insulated.
You should also keep in mind that hard water often clogs the elements in electric water heaters and causes sediment buildup on gas burner pilot assemblies, both of which are signs that the unit needs to be replaced.
You don’t need to be an expert to understand the importance of routine maintenance for your water heater. It can help increase the longevity of your appliance, which means it will last longer and save you money in the long run.
As you can see, many factors contribute to the life of a water heater. The best way to ensure that yours lasts as long as possible is to do routine maintenance and keep up with any issues that may arise.

Water heaters are a key part of the modern household, and it's important to know about the different types of water heaters that are available. While there are several water heater options for you, here we will focus on the three main types:
Conventional water heaters have a tank that stores hot water, and they are usually powered by gas or electricity. The water is heated when you turn on the faucet, and it heats up to its full capacity over time. This type of heater has a lifespan of 10 to 15 years.
Tankless water heaters don't store water. Instead, they heat it as it passes through. This means that you only use hot water when you need it.
This makes tankless water heaters more efficient than conventional water heaters because less energy is wasted heating cold water sitting in the tank of a conventional model. And because there are no tanks to maintain, they're also easier to clean and usually cheaper over time than standard models with tanks.
The third type of water heater is the most expensive. It's also the most efficient, which means it has a smaller environmental footprint than other types of water heaters. Solar-powered water heaters can be installed on a roof or ground mount and can be used for both space heating and domestic hot water production.
To determine whether this type of system would work best for you, ask yourself these questions: Do I have enough sunlight? Is there room to install solar panels on my house? If not, will I be able to put them in an area where they'll get plenty of sunlight?
These are just some of the main water heater types, and there are plenty more. It’s important to know what kind you have to properly maintain it and make sure it lasts for many years to come.
